I have an early Aries Vane Gear self-steering apparatus.

My father had purchased this apparatus with intentions of rebuilding it and fitting it to his sailboat. He has since passed away and it needs to go.

It appears to be mostly complete, albeit needing a thorough cleaning and possibly a rebuild.

What you see in the pictures is what is for sale. I can take more pictures upon request.

It appears that area code 603 is on the east coast somewhere? Maybe New Hampshire? Shipping costs are always a concern with big boat stuff so if you gave a location where the Aries is then maybe you'd get more interest.

If you were here in Hawaii, I have a friend that's looking for parts and pieces and $400 is not too far out of line.

Yep it's located on the coast of New Hampshire in Hampton. Sorry, forgot to mention that. I'd be willing to deliver in New England for a reasonable fee.

mce48, you are almost giving away an Aries. I am surprised that a CF member hasnt bought it, but if you really want to sell it, put it on Craigslist under sailboats, not just boats. Fishermen, and jet skiers dont know what an Aries is. If you were close, I would buy it just for spare parts. Good Luck ______Grant.
