This is an early Sitex ais receiver/plotter with a receive only vhf splitter in new condition. The plotter requires gps data input and shows relative position of ais targets with basic ais identification info, does not calculate CPA or other functions. The VHF splitter disconnects the AIS receiver upon VHF transmit.
Asking $150.00 complete. email for more info thanks, Frank

Re: AIS receiver and vhf splitter

Frank, do you know what kind of gps signal it needs to see? What baud rate if NEMA 0183? I tried to find the manual on line but couldn't.

Thanks,
Steve

Re: AIS receiver and vhf splitter

Hey Steve,
Pete is correct, but there is no mention of baud rate in the manual.
I hooked it up to my Garmin gpsmap440 and it obtained the necessary data.
From the manual;

"an NMEA 0183 signal with RMC sentence"

Worked as expected, Frank

Re: AIS receiver and vhf splitter

Frank - your garmin (based on the manual I just read) has both NEMA 0183 standard speed and the newer NEMA 0183 High speed 3.0. The speeds they are referring to is the baud rate. The newer AIS devises use the newer high speed baud rate. My current GPS only has the standard baud rate of 4800 which is why I am trying to determine what baud speed your unit needs to see. Do you know what year it was made? That might help with the answer. NEMA 3.0 was published in July of 2000.

Thanks,

steve

Re: AIS receiver and vhf splitter

Hi Steve,
I can look at the Garmin this week and check the baud rater output.
I bought the Garmin in 2008 and the ais receiver in 2010 from Defender.
I am in Erie, PA If you want PM me and we can talk about it. Frank
