ABI Bronze 2sp Windlass

This windlass is in perfect working order. I bought it from a sailor who used it on his WS32. Just prior to my purchase he completely redid all the inner workings, bushings etc. The exterior needs some polishing.

4-Mounting Bolts: 3/8" Diameter
Rope/Chain Pipes: 2-7/8" I.D.
Gear Ratio: 22:1
Gypsy will accomodate 3/8 BBB; 5/16 PCC; or, 3/8 HT
Stainless Steel Saddle:
. 3/8" Stainless Steel plating
. Foot print of base 8 1/4" X 12"
. Inside dimensions: 4 3/4" wide X 6 3/4" high

Includes original handle. Price $800 plus freight

Looks like a manual windlass, right? If so, how do you calculate 33'/minute? Won't this depend upon the operator?

Good question. I believe it is based on some old convention of "able body seaman". That's my best guess anyway.

Do you still have the bronze windless and will it work on a 28 foot southern cross 8500 sailboat?
