Re: 60 foot sailboat ketch super cheap - $4900
Many old boats have met a similar fate. Don't blame the boat. It didn't mean to be neglected. Owners health and death are not criticizeable. It's sad and I hope someone with skill adopts her and either salvages her goods or disposes of her properly.
kind regards,

Re: 60 foot sailboat ketch super cheap - $4900
Come on guys ... squint your eyes and imagine that gorgeous prow with a black hull, rerigged as a schooner (swap the masts, new locations of course) chop off most of the crap aft ... well, the stern will need a bit of work to get it into a proper counter ... then there are those rust stains ... rebar or mesh protruding?
Ok ... as Gilda used to say, "... Never mind."

Re: 60 foot sailboat ketch super cheap - $4900
hard rock IS a schooner--not a ketch.
there are no protruberances from hull. is smooth...rodlmao....
ferros get rust stains. especially old ones with no maintenance.

Re: 60 foot sailboat ketch super cheap - $4900
Quite right mlle. hag. That's what happens when you read instead of looking. And, seriously, I agree with you that someone ought to take her on and save her. The transom is not that bad and the rust stains are, as you say, probably just cosmetic. (Why I said she ought to be black.) What is 'rodlmao?'

Re: 60 foot sailboat ketch super cheap - $4900
Purely as a matter of academic interest, is it a ketch or a schooner? it’s a strange looking rig for a ketch.

Re: 60 foot sailboat ketch super cheap - $4900
Darn, Ive deliverd a few feros in the past! I would not do anything with this slab ! That hull is as crooked as a dogs hind leg! And with the extensive rust weepage, theres already bad thing going on inside the matrix! As others have said its only good to maybe salvage some equipment from it and junk the rest !!Ya would have to be darn hard up for a boat to even look at this THING !! Just my 2 cents

I'd sell it for a $1 and be happy that it did not cost me more.

On the plus side, it's still floating.
