For Sale or Trade: 42' Mast For Sale W/ Boom, Free Delivery

Hi all,
I have a 42' double spreader, tapered mast for sale. The boom is 14' and 1/2" long. The mast is set up for internal halyards. It was refinished and repainted but has since gotten light overspray on one side. There is a winch base on either side and two tangs welded on the front of the mast. The boom has a tang welded on for a vang. Mast base is oval, 8 1/2" x 4 5/8".

I can deliver free of charge to southern california around the end of sept. beginning of october or the south side of chesapeake to south florida in december. Possibly texas to louisiana for a minor fuel fee.

Is it a masthead rig or fractional?. If fractional, what fraction for the jib?. Deck stepped or keel stepped?? Looks like there is a piece cut out of the boom from the photo. What's the story on that?? Spreaders, mast base, and/or tangs for attaching wire??

It's a masthead rig, deck stepped, the cut out on the boom is for a screw style outhaul (similar to my old westsail 32 and vanguard 32), mast doesn't have any hard wear with it as it was stripped, refinished, painted and forgotten. Tangs and toggles, step and spreaders will be a needed items. Mast looks almost new except for the overspray and set of threaded holes in winch bases.

I'll try to get a pic of the welded base of the cut out in the boom and i'll see if I can track down a photo of the screw style outhauls as well, however, I don' think I can get the mast to Hawaii under the free shipping portion of the ad.

Boom cutout can also have a piece of track mounted to it with a car for an outhaul.

Damn, just thought you'd continue straight on when you get to San Diego. Thinking of doing a circumnavigation of the NE Pacific next summer. Wouldn't be hard to go down the coast and swap out the mast when i get there. Storage would probably be an issue. Of couree have to commit to making the sail to Alaska and down the coast. In any case, the questions were ones others would have.

Yep, good info for anyone interested and I am Happy to answer any questions or entertain offers. I could bring it to oregon but it would be fuel cost as I have no real reason to drive a 42' trailer there. It would still be a hike from AK and still have to store it. Thanks for looking though.

We bought our westsail 32 on the bottom in 97' spent a couple years rebuilding stem to stern then bounced around florida bahamas for 4 years. We have a better situation to get up and go farther now so we are getting rid of lots of stuff.
