40' Endevour ($34,900)

1981 Endevour, Endevour 40’
The Endeavour 40 is a solid, comfortable, cruising boat, designed and built with the influences of Charlie Morgan and Ted Irwin. This classic vessel needs a little TLC, but is fully functional. The sails and rigging are in great shape, including the Shaeffer in-boom furling system. The Yanmar diesel runs very nicely and the Westerbeke gen set seem almost new. I had a change in life plans since purchasing the boat and would love to see her go to someone with a similar vision for restoration. A survey performed in September of 2015 is available upon request and should be transferable. The fuel was treated in late November 2015, The rigging has been tuned as of late September 2015. She needs paint/gelcoat work, ports to be re-sealed, and other mostly cosmetic issues to be addressed. This boat is a tremendous value and priced to move to its next owner.

Do you have any exterior photos to help assess the amount of cosmetic work necessary
Also pictures of the aft cabin and dingy. Thank you!

The exterior needs paint all around, the hull above the waterline and the decking is all oxidized with a few spots on the decking with some small crazing.

Re: 40' Endevour ($34,900)

This should answer most of the pm's and inquiries, Amberly is located a few miles from the Miami boat show! I have a recent survey (September/2015) and I will give you the details of Amberly as I know them. The previous owner purchased her brand new and had taken very good care of her through the years, Sometime around 2005 he refitted the 50hp Perkins with a 65hp Yanmar and the 17” 2 blade prop with a 19” Maxprop, So she moves very well for a 25,000lb boat with her 13’ beam. He also added the Main sail Boom furler; Westerbeke 5Kw diesel generator, A/C unit’s front and rear, the floor/sole, fuel tank and settee seating were replaced. Her hull, mast, rigging, and sails are in excellent shape. She sails very smoothly and is balanced on all points of sail due to her keel design, protected rudder, mid to heavy weight and waterline. For the 2.5 years before the sale the owner fell in bad health and passed and she was basically left neglected for that period of time.
Survey, The rigging was inspected and static/dynamically tuned post survey, the Aft A/C unit works fine, forward AC unit powers up, the fan blows but no cooling, the refrigerator cold plate is dead. The oven needs a second tank, lines and a new solenoid, The westerbeke generator was tested and has output, the wiring/terminals are bad. The alternator produces a solid charge, and the batteries are obviously new. Cosmetics, The entire hull above the waterline and the decking is oxidized and simply needs repainting, there are some areas of small crazing mostly around bends in the decking (radius bends) The decking will need a little extra prep in those area’s then repainting. It was noted there were soft spots on the decking, I had a tech check this out and felt it was not a concern, Several port side hatches were leaking causing water damage inside, These have all been sealed but some of the wood is soft and will need attention at some point, The dingy is an Apex 7.5' dual chamber, the port side has a very slow leak (4-6 hours to get soft). I have replaced the placards, horn, and flares and have added 2 offshore harness floatation vests. Contact Dave Schechter of 1st yacht for information or a viewing.
