always great to hear from someone who actually owns the boat you are looking at rather than a dealer! We would love to hear all about your ownership experience, any issues you've had, the type of motors/outdrives ect...
we have recently sold our beloved 2400 clubsport that took my family of 5 to some unforgettable places in the Whitsundays, but the time has come to start doing it in something that doesnt make us look like asylum seekers.

Hi Ben,

You will notice a huge difference between the 2400 and the 38'. I Don't know much about the 37' Sunrunner but from all accounts they are a very good handling boat also. Everyone I originally talked to before buying mine said definitely go the 37-38' rather than the smaller 33' and I think they were spot on.
Comfort is excellent and although a little light they still handle very well.

I have 2 x 300hp Mercruisers with Bravo 2 legs in mine. I have had no major issues but as with boats there is always something to do/improve on. It's been interesting pulling bits apart when they need maintenance/fixing and learning how it all works. Try to get one with the Bow thruster already installed ( I think most are theses days)

Fuel wise she uses around 80lph (both motors) at 3200rpm doing 16knts. At 1500rpm she will use around 20lph and do 6-6.5knts. Those figures are from a floscan metre which is currently reading with only 3% error at fill up. I can give more detailed numbers of other fuel figures if you want.

The Riveria may be a better choice as they are available with the diesel motors and shaft drive but there were none in my budget when I was looking.

Hi All, just wondered if anyone has had a bow thruster fitted to their boat? looking to have one fitted to a 38 foot sports cruiser, Are there better brands, different capacities? any input would be gratefully received.

Hi Ben,

I have the Volvo Penta QL BP600 on my Mustang and it does the job well. There was a recent thread on here about someone else wanting ideas also which may have some useful info.

cheers Dave, if you don't mind me asking, what was the cost of purchase and fitting?

It was done in 2005 so costs are probably not relevant now. It was around 3k for the unit plus tube, joystick fitting etc so probably 5k or so. They may very well be cheaper now. They do draw a lot of power so make sure the electrics are up to it also.

wont get to see how the volvos go on fuel till Easter, it is a Royal ,so was blue, last owner painted her white?! was in a photo shoot for some magazine in her past livery...looked better in blue

Looks good. Interesting he changed the colour though. I agree it looked good with the blue hull. I have no doubt you will enjoy either way
