38-50' Bluewater Cat $200k Range

Looking for a good condition blue water catamaran in or below the $200k range. Possibilities include but not limited to: 42 Lagoon TPI, Seawind 1160 or 1200, FP Belieze or Lavezzi (owners version only), Catana 411 or 431, etc... although I am not interested in a typical charter boat.

If many of the boats on your list come in below $200k, you will either get a steal or the boat will have issues.

Join the party. From what I can tell there are a lot of people looking for sub $200k cats. Wish I could find some for clients. Only ones I have seen have serious structural issues. Old cats seem to tear apart.

Re: 38'-50' Blue Water Cat $200k Range

I am interested in anything less than $300k, preferably a for sale by owner boat. My guess is a boat listed at $350k by a broker gets an offer after months of slip fees, a buyer finally negotiates a significant price decrease, pays a broker a significant commission, the seller ends up getting less than what I am willing to spend...

lagoon 42, tpi. I was enamoured with the Catana hype when I was looking, but the ones I looked at just felt ultra light. I think the L42 is a good compromise between teh heavy priveledge and the Catana/FP's. Maybe a manta?

I have a 1983 Prout Quasar 50 for sale. It is both US and Canadian duty paid. New VW 65hp engines in 2006 with less than 200 hrs total. New Gen set 6kw and all electric galley. I'm the second owner and the boat has never been chartered. August 2011 condition survey and valuation aqvailable to serious buyer. We are within your price range. The boat is in good condition but I haven't used it this year an need some minor TLC.

Regards

I love Seawind cats and have seen the 1160 but prefer my 1000 model and not just because it is more affordable. You can google Katie Kat to see her bluewater capabilities. I have personally sailed her in a December Northeaster with gale force winds in the Gulf Stream and am astonished by her seaworthiness. Take a look at the mast support system. Full disclosure, my Seawind 1000 is for sale by owner.

We have owned 7 sub $200,000 cats. No structural issues with any of them. I don't know where your looking.
