36 Ft. 1978 Tiburon

Saracen is a true bluewater, classic vessel. Her previous owners purchased her in San Fransisco and headed west with lots of adventures before arriving here on the Outer Banks. I was truly pleased to have acquired her. She was in need of significant work, so I rolled up my sleeves and started, as time would allow, as I work fulltime, out of the area. And then Sandy came along. The results were that Saracen's engine and foresail needed replacing. As much as I would really like to keep her, as a single individual, who doesn't really know how long my employment will last, I really need to be wiser.

I have the insurance company's appraisal of $45,825, in below average condition. ' Sistership' is considered a Cabo Rico 38'. I'm asking $14,500, or make me a FAIR offer.

I will be happy for anyone serious to see the appraisal. I also have a survey for those who are serious and someone is available for inspections. She is currently 'on the hard,' facilitating hull inspection. Yard paid thru 3/31/15.

Saracen has all the potential of being a real show stopper. Interior pictures were taken 11/19/14; camera was not adjusted to the current date. She is documented with the USCG.

Re: 36 Ft. 1978 Tiburon

I have seen this boat on the hard down in Wanchese. Hull looks solid but she clearly needs a lot of work.

I bought Saracin and moved her to Mississippi and am in the process of refitting her for blue water cruising.

I will be happy to update my progress here on the refit.

This is hull #36 and as far as I am able to determine, by papers left on board by the first owner, this is the last Tiburon 36 built before the molds were changed to make the CR38.

My goal is to launch her next spring, much to do before then to maker her the boat she once was
