33 Morgan Out Island - Southern California - $9,999 +?

(relisting of rules violation post... oooops!)

Super fire sale, this baby needs to go... I live 2000 miles away, and I've been hanging onto her for too long. (plus I have 3 other sailboats where I currently live). Boat was in excellent condition 1+ yr ago and sat while I was out of state during this time... Still looks, runs, sails fantastic... although she really needs some good used sails, a good buffing, and a few other things...

I flew in 4 months ago, filled the water tank, and took off to the islands for the weekend and had a spectacular sail... 6.5-7.5kts there and back... She is ready to sail. . .

SO HERE IS THE DOWN AND DIRTY OF THE DEAL. . .
I will be in town for THREE MORE DAYS Sat 12/5-Mon 12/7, and show her/sea trial to a few people who are interested. . . I will take 10-12.5k for her, but I expect higher offers towards 15k. . . At The end of the week, she will have a new owner. . .

Things that need attention:
1. Mainsail is IS A TEMP from a 37' Islander that doesn't fit right, home made square top headboard for an experiment. She will sail very well like this, but it ain't pretty. You can get a good used sail from Minney's for under $500.

EDIT #1 =NEW MAINSAIL ACQUIRED, NORTH 8OZ DACRON, CONDITION 7 OUT OF 10

2. The furling headsail is at the end of it's life, or maybe just needs a new sunbrella sacrificial edge to eek out a few more seasons. The boat also comes with a hank on 135 in GREAT SHAPE that pulls like a banshee.
3. She will need bottom paint soon. Was done 4 yrs ago, bottom cleaner reports paint went from "fair" to "needs paint" this year. . .

Other regular and minor boat items to address, but nothing to report.

THE CURRENT pictures (5/15) are the first exterior pics... The shiny hull pictures after the interior pics are from a year ago (8/14)... AS YOU CAN SEE. . . SHE CLEANS UP NICELY. . .

EDIT # 2 = BUFFED OUT THE TOPSIDES, AND SHE LOOKS SPECTACULAR!

She's an island warrior in Southern California, home port being Marina del Rey . . . Stout as a tank, and easily handles anything thrown at her, but just as happy taking non sailors on the reach to Malibu, and BBQ on the run home. . . A perfect daysail in Santa Monica Bay. . .

For those looking who aren't familiar with the design, a broker's quote sums it up:

Possibly the largest 33' sailboat you will ever see, the Morgan is a great boat to live aboard and "go some where". Built like a tank, the full keel with protected rudder is a great choice for cruising grounds.

These boats are an incredibly thick layup, heavy, have a fantastic sea motion and reduced heel. With 3'11" draft and a fully encapsulated keel, grounding and keel anxiety are non issues. . .

I know what ya mean there scgilligan!

I try to buy boats as far as me from possible... Then I don't feel so bad about throwing money into them when I reflect on how much it cost to get the boat to me...

I love my Morgan 27 and had I not just paid for new rigging I would have paid your asking price, cash.

living on my OI 33 I am stunned at your price. these are good boats that age well. Charlie Morgan did a great design job for the non-racing cruiser. please let us know what she sells for.

Re: 33 Morgan Out Island - Southern California - $9,999 +?

Sorry Everybody!
Laptop went down, new motherboard arrives Monday... Tablet juuuuuust arrived back from warranty repair Friday... So I was a bit handicapped as I DON'T like being tied to a desk!

I AM NOT in town yet, work came up .... and we all know that sometimes you just gotta suck it up and be responsible... My nephew was kind enough to drive a couple hours to show the boat last week, and there is a very interested party...
With the number of people interested, I expect my 12.5k goal no problem... But as stated... Will hand over the keys for the 10k minimum...

If you are confused on the price, please re-read the "down and dirty" portion of the ad post...

Thanks Dave... She sits patiently, and whenever I show here the slightest attention by coming to town, she blows my socks off with loyal performance...
