30kg / 66lb Genuine Bruce Anchor
Hello, I have a 30kg/66lb Genuine Bruce anchor, forged in the UK, for sale. The galvanizing is still shiny and it still has the original manufacturer's label attached.
$500 or reasonable offer. Located in Annapolis

Perhaps, but the Manson anchor closest in design is the ray which sells at west marine for $1179. The supreme is a completely different design.

I've been PM'd an offer of $350 which falls into the realm of what I consider a reasonable offer. I'll let the ad run a few weeks and if there are no other offers and that person is still interested I'll let it go to them at that price.

I'm sorry but I already have an offer of $350 and unless your offer is a reasonable amount higher I'll stand by my agreement to sell it to him since he made the offer first. The existing offer is from someone fairly close to me and I assume he would be picking it up so unfortunately any shipping costs would make it more expensive for you. Thank you for the offer though.
I feel to be fair I should put a time limit on accepting offers of June 15th.

This exact manufacturer and model is out of production and from the research I've done is sought after because it is a very tough anchor compared with some copies like the Lewmar which does sell for about $200. As noted above the Manson copy retails at West Marine for $1179.
I'm assuming this is due to the higher quality units being made of high tensile steel which is less likely to bend.
This IS a new Genuine Bruce, and although out of production it has never been used.

The anchor has been sold. The final bid was $400. If for some reason the sale is not finalized I will be in touch with the next highest offer.
FYI, one person making an offer tells me that the reason anchors like this are sought after is due to the fact that they are drop forged unlike the cheaper cast anchors which aren't as strong.

Yes, original Bruce are great anchors. That talk about $200 is just crazy; those are look-alike's that fail in all the tests.

mebbe yours is a knock off-- but mine is genuine bruce original. and YES i did pay 200 dollars for it from a fella on another forum. in sd.. LOL
dont be second guessing what others find .... you will not be correct in your ASSumptions.
