This is a great, well cared for, cruising
boat. Designed by Mark Ellis (Niagara and Nonsuch designer), she has the alternate layout with a
work bench forward instead of the traditional V-berth. Blue-J has already been around
Vancouver Island once, and just returned from a 2 week trip to the Gulf Islands. The
boat is in great shape and runs/sails wonderfully. Unfortunately, my wife has decided that, although she likes cruising, she does not like sailing. As such, we're going to sell Blue-J and get a
power boat. Blue-J has a recent
survey from 09/14 and all the issues found have been addressed. (there weren't many. The
surveyor commented on how clean and nicely put together the boat was).
Recent upgrades:
Rebuilt injectors (4/15), new
Jabsco head (6/15), new
battery bank: 1 starter (group 29) and 3 house (group 31)
AGM batteries (4/15), new
battery charger (4/15), B&G
chartplotter at
helm (3/15),
Raymarine autopilot (3/15), new Vulcan 12
anchor (3/15), recently reconditioned
teak interior and exterior, new zincs on shaft (8/15), flushed
cooling system, new impeller, new
fuel filters (Twin Racors)
Other upgrades:
Full Iverson enclosure with matching covers, Lectra-san waste treatment system to eliminate the
holding tank (no
pump outs!),
electric anchor windlass, Magma
grill,
Furuno radar, Espar Airtronic D4
heater with digital controller,
Garmin Chartplotter at companion way, Tac-Tic
wind instruments, Link 10 battery
monitor, Campbell Sailor prop. I'm sure there's much more I'm forgetting, she's a very well outfitted boat.
