I just inherited a 37' TAYANA from my father and would like to sell her..."SPIRIT" is a documented vessel located in Marathon, Florida in water in a marina...She just had a out of water Survey, new a/c & new porcelin head installed June 2010...I live in Memphis, TN and know nothing about sailing...Asking $75,000/obo...

Hi Terrie, welcome to the board.

Unfortunately the used boat market is probably as bad as it has been in decades right now if you are selling. That's the bad news.

The good news is that you have a great boat to sell (assuming it;s in good condition), although your asking price may be too high for this market. To learn a little about the boat, see this thread:

Check out asking on yachtworld then price according to your area and the condition / age of your sample.

If you do not want to use the boat better to sell it for less and sooner than wait - good for your pocket, the boat, and for the new user. (opinion, not fact)

"Thanks" Everyone for your comments...It has been very helpful...I have already had a few offers, but cannot sell her until death certificate comes in, documentation papers are complete & letter of administration from the Courts are done...so, I have a few weeks to see what offers I get...My Father loved her...It has really been difficult for me...My Beloved Father was found face down floating in the ocean beside "SPIRIT" and is now in a better place I know...
