1978 Columbia 8.7 Sailboat - $9500

1978 Columbia 8.7 sloop powered by a Yanmar 15 diesel engine and with tiller steering. Two year old mainsail, 7 year old headsail on a Harken roller furling. Brand new New England Rope sta-set 9mm jib sheets (70 feet each), and 9mm main halyard (82 feet). Both batteries are new, house and starter. All interior cushions were just redone in November 2010. Brand new Raymarine ST60 series Autopilot installed in November 2010, which is linked to the Garmin 182C GPS/Chartplotter with colorscreen.

Sale will also include an 8 foot AVON dinghy with a 2 horsepower outboard motor.

boat has a 40lb CQR anchor with 20 feet of chain and 180 feet of rope for a rode.

NOTES:
- headsail is pretty worn and should probably be replaced.
- bow pulpit is bent a bit to the starboard side, not enough to affect the headsail, but should be removed, straightened, and reinstalled.
- port side bow docking cleat is broken off, no damage to the deck or mounting screws, but will need to be replaced.

email for more info and pictures. Asking $9500 but price is negotiable within reason.

Location

Sorry, i meant to include that.

Boat is currently located near Hilton Head Island on the Atlantic coast of South Carolina.

I single handed the boat from Rhode Island in November, then got off to be with family through the holidays. In February if the boat has not sold i will be sailing it down the coast to Key West, Florida.

thanks for the interest and let me know if you have any more questions.

Glad you saw this, Bergovoy, that's why I asked location. Good to see a seller not afraid to point out issues, as well.

thanks for the compliments on the boat. I always try to be as honest as possible when selling something.

where in Florida are you located? i'm planning on going down the east coast and then cutting through the Okeechobee Waterway from Ft. Pierce over to Fort Myers. Might be going a bit north from there to Bradenton to see relatives, then back down to Key West. I could stop any place that would be convenient for you if you were interested in looking at the boat.

still not exactly sure when i will be back on board, have a few family issues going on to take care of first. but i will keep this updated.

heheh, funny how i feel some people know all about me, and yet some dont know anything... heheheh

anyways, to keep it short, i have a bunch of threads in the liveaboard section... and i am moving from So. Cal to florida in about one month or so... I have NO destination other then it being coastal and access to a boat...

I hoped to find a boat first then move to that location, rather then picking a city and then looking and maybe then finding a boat in another city...

Where are you now? and how far off the path from cal to florida are you located??? i may stop by your place on my way to look at the door

is the bilge dry, or full, or just a trickle? any smells? an idea of what you would do to her if you were to keep her and could afford it?

Maybe willing to get a survey on your own, and or at least a cursory 'review'.

And price negotiation is a good one too... are you willing ot negotiate? are you willing to split the cost of something, like detailing, or cleaining, or tune up or pressure wash, etc...

I am interested, it's now just a matter of timing, geography, and condition...
