Re: 1970 C. Plath Micrometer Sextant

Thank you for the reply! You can phone or text me at 760-721-1516. Since I am new to the site, it look me a while to figure out that I needed to log on with my name & not e-mail...duh. What can I tell you? I'm in Orange County, California so it would have to be mailed. An instrument just like it (# 54257) is for sale by Robert E. White Instruments in Medfield, MA. for $1300. You might want to check out the site. I also have it on Craigslist Orange County.

Re: 1970 C. Plath Micrometer Sextant

Well, I had my heart set on a Russian SNOT (no, not the nasal kind, a Freiberger Trommel copy) anyway, but a Plath is genuinely Teutonic and my cash is ready to launch for a genuine deal....

Re: 1970 C. Plath Micrometer Sextant

As much as I want this, I have other things to purchase that are higher priority. So I must pass on this.

Very nice and that is a good price. Oceanside is a nice place as my son and daughter in law lived there until buying a home a few years ago in Vista a few miles up the road.

Re: 1970 C. Plath Micrometer Sextant

Wow, nice.

I had three sextants for sale last year and I got more than what I paid for the cheap Davis plastic ones but could not sell my bronze Tamaya for 1/3 rd of what I paid in '74.
No one was interested in my Walker log either.
Both in a box on a closet shelf. Sigh ! LOL

I had bought 2 and gave one to Ference Mate. We were both building W32's at the time.
