Seemed very simple and would minimize the need for many panels. I already have a wind generator on a pole but to add at least one efficient solar panel should give enough power.
I am just a little concerned that a 100 W panel fixed basically at one point on top of a pole may get blown off in a squall or a gust.

Lost of boats have one, and its not a problem.

This is what the Australian dealers fitted to mine. 400 watt flexi panels. Still a little slippery but you don't void the warranty by pulling the panel apart.
