Salina 48 and non-closing doors while on hard

I'm looking for a boat and recently saw a Salina 48. I'ts a Maestro Evolution version. She stays on a hard in a boatyard. In the guest hull both doors misaligned and cannot be closed. A broker says it's common for some FP models including Orana 44. In water he says it will be OK.

So is it really common for some FP? The boat <10 years old. For me it doesn't looks normal.

Some Lagoon's 450 have a similar problems, due to weak, broken bulkheads.

Re: Salina 48 and non-closing doors while on hard

A lot of these French boats come over to the U.S. on their own bottom when new. I have seen a lot of them after arrival before being delivered as a new boat and after a rough crossing the bulkheads are loose and none of the cabinetry will close. The construction standards on many of these new boats is scary. They are held together with spit and duct tape. If you are thinking about spending $100,000's of dollars on a used Catamaran take a trip to one of the factories in Europe and have a tour. If you know anything about boats this will end your interest pretty quick.

You got to listen to that little voice in the back of your head that keeps whispering
“these doors don’t look right”.
Because something is very, very wrong here and you don’t need to be a boatbuilder to figure it out.

Often doors wont work well on the hard. Mono's too.
