I have a Venezia 42. When I bought it, it had Max Props. I had so many issues with them sticking. They are the old type and could not be serviced in the water. I loved the power of the reverse, but the big problem is that they cannot motorsail.. If we head south from West Palm Beach in the summer, the wind is almost always from the SSE. We have to motor sail.
We sold the max props to go back to the 2 blade fixed prop. We lost no observable speed even though we race. But we can use one engine at low rpm to sail close hauled where the Max Props have to be pushing forward to be effective.
