Potable water gauge reads full until almost empty
Hi Guys,
My Lavezzi 40 potable water gauge reads full until the tank is almost empty then drops to the actual level which is a bit of a pain.
I suspect it is a sender problem and yesterday I found the sender but before I go ripping it all apart I would like to know if anyone else has had a similar problem particularly on a FP cat and what the did to fix it?

Re: Potable water gauge reads full until almost empty
Mine is a capacitive sender, easy to replace. Be sure to match the depth of the tank and the gauge (mine is 12v - 4/20ma).
~$66 US

It could have US senders and a Euro gauge or vice versa. That would cause the meter to reverse.

Re: Potable water gauge reads full until almost empty
Thanks guys, the gauge works the correct way, there must be a short or some other defect.
Looks like a new sender is the go.

Marine Gauge Systems offers a solid state replacement for US type senders (30-270ohms). The easiest way to verify a US type gauge is to short (connect), the sender leads on the back of the gauge. If it goes to full scale, it is US. If it indicates empty, it is a Eurpoean model.

We went with a water meter... Fill the tank and count down the actual water used or filled from the water maker. Less than 250 with remote digital display

I have been considering a water flow meter. What brand/model did you use?
