Re: Owners

Hi All,

I had taken couple of videos on my trip from İstanbul to MArmaris with Helia number one.
I'l try to post one of them and if I can manage you will see how much fun you will have with yr new baby..,
The only problem is that you may need to turn screen by 90 degrees to watch it properly I simply couldn't find the way to correct it, sorry..

Cheers

Name change of our boat from 'Curiosity' to '1 Giant Leap'. Curiosity killed the cat!! Just for interest heres a photo of the boat all packed up for check-in for her trip to Australia from Southampton. Too big for 'carry-on'!

Re: Owners

That just brings tears to my eyes. Wish she was heading my way.
Do they put the big Helia 44 sticker on all the boats or just the ones going to boat shows?

Our Helia 44, Let It Be, arrives in Tortola

WOW! Our new Helia 44, named Let It Be, arrived in Tortola to the TMM dock yesterday morning thanks to the delivery crew that sailed her from La Rochelle.
I spoke to the delivery captain, Josh, for about 10 minutes via Skype. Light winds really made it difficult for him to truly test the Helia 44. I will fill in more details later.
TMM will spend about 3 weeks getting ready for the first charter crew on March 8. TMM will be adding genset, A/C, cushions, sail bag, and all the comforts to this Helia 44 over the next 3 weeks.
I'll try to post more photos as they are sent to me. How I wish I were there.

Re: Owners

Just adding some more photos for those that are interested. Our Helia is in transit from Europe to Australia. The boat afloat without the rigging gives you a great view of the gorgeous lines of the Helia. Included is the Raymarine fit out. Chartplotter is a C127 with an extra transducer for sonar. Also have included desalinator install. this is the factory AquaBase. If anyone wants more photos of the boat we have plenty of transport and final works.

Re: Owners

Great photo's Tim. What model sonar did you select?
We have been told our boat build is complete and now for the next phase, the extra equipment to be installed at the dock.
This is the hull # FR-FPA 54 012 B 3 13.
We head up to La Rochelle 6th April so not long to go now!

Re: Owners

Great news Gordon. You'll be in yours in April. Great time to start your cruise. Re: sonar we had the C127 combination Chartplotter / Fishfinder installed with a separate sonar head to the depth transducer. Its not the most powerful sonar but I'm not looking for fish 1000m deep but scouting for shipwrecks on the bottom in the islands at diveable depths (50-100m). Took your recommendation on the tender outboard (Suzuki). Only things considering left to do are Code '0' which will have made in Australia and FP generator/compressor. Thats apart from Aust. rego requirements and survey. Were all good for survey it seems except for fixed co2 fire suppression in the engine spaces. We are getting advice if thats even required as we are a yacht. The FP rep in Dusseldorf told us all hulls slots to Nov this year have been sold. There going fast. Pity you won't be around for Sanctuary Cove Show as ours will be there, but you'll be doing better things!!

Fat Iguana left La Rochelle yesterday!!

230 nm in her first 24 hour stretch. :-D

Unfortunately, unfavorable winds will keep her parked at Porto for the next 5 days or so. :-(

So far so good.

Can't wait!

Re: Owners

Mine also is on the way to Porto. (#5) I am in touch with the skipper, weather forecast for Thursday looks unsailable but otherwise he will proceed. Why waiting 5 days ??

Cheers
