Orana 44 30hp engines

Hello everyone! I want to buy Orana. I found the boat in good condition, but it has 30hp engines. How bad is it for mooring in strong winds and upwind?

30 HP on each side should be plenty. I recommend that you be careful about letting your mind wander to wanting to change out engines for a larger set. Engine changes are a nightmare, with mounts, exhaust, hoses, cables, wires, and though hulls in the wrong places, if of course the new engine even fits in the space allowed. Prove to yourself that the existing engines can't do the job first.

Fountaine says your boat will cruise under engine power at 5 knots and peaks at seven. Hull speed is a bit tricky for a catamaran, but those are good numbers for you if true.

I feel like that has to be a good bit less than hull speed as my Mahe 36, which is about 7' shorter at the waterline, cruises at 5 knots on one 30 HP engine working well below peak power, and can exceed 7 knots with two engines pretty easily using those same VP D1-30 engines.
