As you have observed, Edmund, we are reorganizing the wealth of Mahe material into a more useful collection by moving posts to threads that are more specific to certain Mahe issues. How do we know what those are?
We don't.
At least, we don't know to the extent a Mahe owner / enthusiast will know them. We are working closely with one such person, and he has put forward the notion of "categories," which he and many other Mahe owners thought would be a better way to access specific material.
To date, four new categories / threads have been created, and 106 posts have been reassigned to those categories. It was not without some confusion, however, but now that that has been analyzed and rectified, the process can continue until all of the posts in the one long thread have been reassigned.
At that point, the second sticky in the list of threads that contains the original long thread will have been "emptied," as all of the original 1228 posts will be housed in their own threads, and all of those threads will be "opened," which just means that they can continue to be posted to.
For your information, and any others who can't find the new threads, when you open the Fountaine Pajot sub-forum in the Manufacturers Forum, you will see a box labeled (any prefix) at the top of the list of threads. Click on that, then select
Mahe 36 from the options listed. That will bring up all the
Mahe 36: prefixed threads, showing those that have received the newest posts at the top.
The "FP Mahe:" in a different color than the thread titles which you will now see at the beginning are the new prefixes that help organize the material just that much more effectively. I encourage all Mahe enthusiasts to
experiment with them to discover how helpful they are. You will see that there are now several other FP model threads with their own prefixes, as well.
Be patient as all of the posts in the original Mahe 36 thread are moved, and the new threads re-opened. There is nothing easy or instantaneous about any of this, and we are proceeding carefully so that we achieve the optimum result.
This is also necessary because what we're doing with the Mahe material will serve as a template for other such single-thread monsters as those, too, reach a tipping point and must be reorganized. That will probably happen fairly soon with the
Lagoon material, but we're going to get this one right first, analyze the results, then move on to other long threads as they reach critical mass.
