Re: New and need some assistance please

Please don't go sailing until all is understood. Take an experienced sailor out with you. Mistakes can be really expensive.

Ditto, can't have in mast furling on a catamaran with battens. Or I am told.

Re: New and need some assistance please

There are many sailing clubs around Brisbane. Here’s one that looks well worth trying:

Most of us messed up the first few times we took our own boats out (even after quite some time sailing dinghies or crewing for other people) - and for most of us the boats we first had were small and cheap! So good luck!

Elvstrom Fatfurl, in mast main. I had them on an Antares 44.

Maybe you've never come across one with an in-mast system..
I'd not have believed this till I saw it.

I don't recognize that Antares as being one with Elvstrom sails. I know I was first and two serial #'s behind me went the same way. Elvstrom and Selden did a great job making the match work. The mainsail had positive roach and a lot more area than the UK sails offering.
