Re: Lighting and LEDs

Hi everyone.
We have the courtesy lights in the saloon - but both the low-level LED lights under the seats/cabinets and the bright ceiling LED lights are on the same switch. Which seems weird as one set is more mood lighting, and the other so bright you can turn the saloon into an operating theatre. Is this the same on all Helias, and has anyone separated the two onto different switches? Thanks.

Re: Lighting and LEDs

We have the same single switch set up on our boat as well. Always thought it was a bit odd, but hasn't bothered us enough to try and re-wire everything, though I don't see why you couldn't...

Were you able to find a replacement or did you put in a different fixture?

We need to replace on on our boat now.

Thank you.

Saloon Ceiling and Floor Lighting

Helia 44 Owners,

For those of you that do not care to have the very bright center ceiling light on at the same time as the floor.

Here’s a pretty easy DIY 12 volt re-wiring job that will let you have the lights any way you would like.

1) Center Ceiling only
2) Floor only
3) Both Center Ceiling & Floor

What you will need:
Qty 2 - 14001 - Vimar - Plana - 1-way switch white
Qty 1 - 14603 - Vimar - Plana - 2M Mounting frame
Qty 1 - 14642.41 Vimar - Plana - 2M- Reflex snow - Cover plate / Snap fixing

You can purchase the switches and cover here:

Cotemar - this great, I've ordered the parts, thanks!

I assume the labels on the wires in your photo are your labels. On your boat, if you recall, were there already two wires (one brown and one red) for the floor and ceiling lights?

Mark so are these 220v switches or just 220v running 12 volts? I am looking for a compatible dimmer switch.

Re: Lighting and LEDs

Hy everyone,

Has anyone already installed a dimmer system for the lights on the new Saona or the Helia, where I think FP is using the same lights on both boats?
