Helia 44 Genny Exhaust / Overheating

Hey Helia owners.
I am stumped trying to help my buddy with a Helia 44. Right now the genny is overheating. March lift pump getting water to genny, impeller good. No raw water coming out of genny exhaust, he says, "It has a water/gas separator".

Does this mean you WOULD NOT get raw exhaust water out of the side of the hull with exhaust? My Leopard 44 can be switched in this regard. If this is the case then maybe a clogged exhaust elbow or a bad coolant thermostat. Any insight greatly appreciated. Thx, Scott

Well it turned out to be a stuck thermostat. So that answers my question about the exhaust raw water not coming out. I guess the designers figure that with an auto shutdown, you can run it that way. Prefer old school on that one... -S
