Venezia 42: Goiot Hatch Compatability

Does anyone know if the Goiot range of hatches have a compatable hatch replacement so I can use same cut out and simple replace the entire hatch, thanks

There are so many different at hatch sizes that I think the only answer is "no". Can't you just measure the sizes of the openings and the width of the mounting surface and shop around?

Also Goiot has kept a lot of hatch designs fairly unchanged. You could likely replace like with like.

I used to work for a hatch manufacturer... the simple answer is no. As Suijin says, go back to Goiot - that’s the most likely place to get a drop in replacement.
Also check forums for your boat make/model to see what others did.
Modifying the deck opening isn’t hard unless you have complications with headliners.
The last choice is to refurbish what you have.

I have Goiot hatches on my boat. I am in the process of replacing them with Lewmar Ocean hatches. I have done 5 of 7 and they fit without any cutting or fitting. The Lewmars are less than half the cost of the Goiot and the quality is at least equal or better. Lewmar also has better availability in the USA. The hard part is carefully comparing the specs in detail to understand the sizes. The manufacturers do not make this easy, but it can be done. I was surprised at just how close the dimensions were.

Our Athena has Goiot Cristal hatches and the acrylics and gaskets need replacing. Compared to the 2 Lewmar hatches we also have, the Goiot ones are far stronger, the frames being cast aluminium and I think definitely worth refurbishing. The acrylics are expensive from Goiot but any acrylic shop can supply once you have a drawing or template and are pretty easy to replace, the Goiot website has details of how to refurb the acrylic and gaskets. The only bits you would need to source from a Goiot distributor would be things like friction hinge and handle parts, but they are available.
