Convection Oven / Microwave Install

Wish I could say it was more of an install, but it fits on the upper shelf perfect! Just had to remove the door and trim away the door stop on the right side. Then used the removed door to make a slightly larger face piece beneath the microwave to hide the feet.

It's an Apollo World Wide oven for those curious. https://www.apolloworldwide.info/pag...able-rv-models

Re: Convection Oven / Microwave Install

Is there sufficient space on the sides and back of the microwave to prevent overheating the electronics?

Did you add any ventilation inside the cabinet?

From where did you run the power?

Many thanks for sharing!

Re: Convection Oven / Microwave Install

I've been keeping a close eye on heat. There is 1 1/2" on the right, 2" on the left, 4" on the rear and the top is open(I removed the ceiling of the cabinet). We baked for an hour yesterday at 350 degrees with no issue. The door appears to get the hottest and air above the was unit was hot, but venting nicely.

I lined the cabinet with reflective firewall mat for some extra protection. I'll toss a temperature probe behind the unit the next time we do some extended baking. If it is a problem or for some additional safety I've thought about adding some fans/vents and the rear of the shelf that can pull in air from the lower cabinet and vent it up and over the unit.

Thank you for the thorough reply! That is the information I was looking for.

Re: Convection Oven / Microwave Install

That looks great. We did a similar "Install" with a convection/grill/microwave unit.
The factory Microwave option goes in that spot so it is actually designed for it. As far as I know the factory option is also a convection unit (Siemens) but I am not 100% sure. They did not release the model details on the options list.

Re: Convection Oven / Microwave Install

Thank you Terebonium, very happy to have you "ahead of us" which are still waiting for ours. I am inpressed by the nice looking of all your modifications.

Do I understant that you selected the ...

Over the Range Dimensions (Model #AD-34-OTRS/B)
Oven Including Trim Kit: 23.75" W X 15.5" H X 19.5" D
Cut out: 24.0" W X 15.5" H X 19.5" D

rather the one :
Over the Range Dimensions (Model #AD-34-OTRS/B)
Cut out: 21.75" W X 16.5" H x 19.5" D

Was the fitting easier ?

Re: Convection Oven / Microwave Install

To all following threads on Lucia 40, there is a meetup in phase of planning for FP owners and future at the boat show">Miami Boat show. Myself I will be there the 16th and 17th.

Great to meet all ... and very sorry for those in Med or Australia.
