Any news on a refresh for the Saba 50?

With the Saona introducing the new design language for FP, they've followed up with the Astrea and the new 45. Any word on if their 50 footer will be getting a refresh soon? I believe they announced an end date to Helia orders that suggested a replacement was on the way. Are Saba orders still open ended?

Re: Any news on a refresh for the Saba 50?

Hi Thalas
We have recently purchased a SABA and asked the same question. FP replied that they are not discontinuing the SABA at this stage. The only refresh we are aware of is the updated colour and wood scheme on the inside of the cat. I understand FP is still accepting orders on the SABA.
Hope this helps

Re: Any news on a refresh for the Saba 50?

Thanks for the update.

I think FP would keep everything completely secret until they make an announcement that they are ceasing orders on the current model. Based on the speed in which the entire line switched to this new design language, I can't see it being more than 6 months out or it would be an outlier in the line and 50' is the flagship of the cruising couple who want max luxury, but don't want a pro crew.

For anyone who ordered a Saba, it's an easy upsell to the new version if they're in the queue. The Saona is amazing for how much space they get out of a 47 foot boat (though the aggressive chines to get all that space definitely make it look a bit chunky when viewed from the front). I can't wait to see what they do with the 50.

Also hoping the salon layout of the 45 becomes standard in the line. Great use of space and while I hate to lose a dedicated nav station/desk, cruising is changing with all that data now mobile.

Any word on when the first 45 is due off the line?

New 45 comes off the line around July this year (2019). 1st show I believe is Cannes (Sept 19).

I do tend to agree with you and this was our concern too when buying the SABA and suddenly finding out a new model arrives a month later. I think the 58 and 50 will have to be renewed to fall in line with the rest. Currently FP has so many orders from the recent new releases that they may well be focused on trying to manufacture and deliver the yachts from the successful selling campaigns within acceptable time frames. If I had to guess I would think 2020 may see some movement within the 50’ to 67’ range. That would mean a delivery around 2021/2022 at best and possibly 2023 if you wanted to wait for a few hulls to be released to work out the kinks.
