Hello - just installed 5.0 and Lake Ontario charts. All looks good. I have all new B&G instruments including a GPS/Compass along with the wifi gateway all NMEA2000. Is there a way to connect to the wifi to get the GPS data? Should have mentioned that the gateway is also NMEA 0183

Yes.
Connect your PC to same network as the gateway.
Using OCPN "Connections" add a new; "Network".
Now you've to find how the gateway transmit the NMEA0183 messages.
If UDP you need the port number. In O select UDP and enter the port.
If TCP you need the address and the port. In O select TCP and enter the address and port.
-> Apply. Check that the new connection is enabled.

Hakan - thank you so much. It is working perfectly with UDP. Tried TCP but couldn't get it to work but all is good on UDP. Haven't used it underway yet but it positioned our boat at our slip and a heading.

I am now trying to find the Canadian charts for Lake Ontario/Great Lakes. I could not see them in the O directory. If you have any info it would be appreciated.

I am very impressed with this software and will be making a donation today.

o-charts.org is OpenCPN's "chart outlet" for licensed charts. For Canada the vector chart portfolio is available.

Thanks all for the information. I have just installed a new B&G vhf radio with AIS and NMEA 2000 so it is now on the network, including the wfi device. How do I get this to show up on the charts?

I went back at menu/settings and expanded the range to 100 miles, right click on chart and clicked on AIS target list and there they were! We are on the Great Lakes so I just needed a wider range.

That is all - I have GPS, AIS and Lake Ontario charts all plotting on my tablet, wireless through my NMEA 2000 Yacht Device wifi. Will load Canadian charts when we can actually go there.
