Re: Windvane_pi

Hi Rick,
I have some updates to make to the plugin based on testing in the real world which should be implemented before attempts are made to use the plugin.

I am not currently in a position to post the updates to got as I don't have access to the computer I was using and won't for about 3 weeks.

Regards
Jon

Is this plugin to have OpenCPN do what autopilots like Raymarine do with their 'Sail to Wind' feature? Not sure I understand the application yet.

Re: Windvane_pi

Hello Jon,

I install it. Ok.

But do you have some VDR file to test your new plugin ?

Re: Windvane_pi

Gille,

You could try using one of Thomas' files for Tactics, they are on O beta File Thingie, or you can download the same files in the wiki documentation for Tactics_pi.
I think Sample2.txt or Sample3.txt would be better.

Let's see, then you'd choose the settings in windvane_pi and then... since the sample files all have the boat following a specific route... this will not work!

I think you need a nmea file with just wind data, to see if it is reacting as expected, but Jon will have better information.
