The newer huawei cards most providers supply with their packages these days are acutally plug and play on linux.

The same applies to your wireless network card by the way - if you get a modern usb dongle it should work and you will probably get faster internet

The Telstra 3G Huawei modem: MF626 works fine with Ubuntu.

However, I haven't yet got my AT&T velocity/option modem/gps working: any suggestion welcome
