WeatherFax plug and OpenCPN 5 on Mac

Is anyone out there able to run any version of Weatherfax in OCPN 5 on mac?
In particular, is it possible to run the plugin for OCPN 4 in OCPN 5?
The plug for version 4 installs with no complaints but does not show in the settings.

I guess the weatherfax plugin for version 4 of OpenCPN will not run with OCPN 5. If you cannot compile it yourself for OCPN 5 you will have to switch back to OpenCPN 4.8.8 which also works better with Mac.

Thanks. Going back to 4.8.8 is certainly an option.
By the way I was testing the WeatherFax 5 win version and, while it does run, it can't retrieve NOAA stuff. A quick - and xml admittedly illiterate - attempt at correcting with the live NOAA url in the url in the WeatherFaxInternetRetrieval.xml file did not help.
