the weird problem is with WeatherFax that counties/companies are dropping the support day by day and sometimes difficult to trace the amendments. ALRS #3 gives you the stations alive on weekly update basis, but sometimes if I remember not easy to follow up they use not to be in the same chapter and they are listed by countries together with another services, I'll try to find something, not sure what can I find?

I don't know when this was updated, but seems to be recently:

Re: WeatherFax ...

What happened? Updated to 1.9.39.0 (deleted the directories before) and the regions don't appear at all, the list is empty. Only the servers. No possibility to choose anything.

Btw, something is going wrong with the update process, without deinstalling and deleting the directories before new installing the actual version, the plugin will not be updated, in the "about" window of weatherfax remains the old version.

Re: WeatherFax ...

There was a misunderstanding between Rick and me when fixing a bug in 1.9.39. Will be corrected in the next one.
Please install back 1.9.36 available here:

Re: WeatherFax ...

Corsair. Yachtcom lists northwood for faxes. That is very old.

Ozolli perhaps I was being thick. Will be able to fix tonight or tomorrow.
We decided to go to hospital, as wifes hernia got worse, ...rather than go sailing.

Sorry Nafragus

Re: WeatherFax ...

I have removed weatherfax from both Beta and Master catalogs. It is not working properly and needs Rx Hospital. The xml files are ok, but parts of the sorting and display of urls and regions is not. The All and None buttons are screwed up and the plugin seems to select everything when it starts.

I have tried to fix it and and failed. Sorry.

Re: WeatherFax ...

Ozolli has provided a fix for Server and Regions display.
Please find weatherfax 1.9.40 in your PIM master catalog.
If you are still having trouble, try the new Retrieve > Update Data Sources
Then close Opencpn and reopen.

Re: WeatherFax ...

I've been testing 1.9.40.0 now, it seems to work again.

But there is a problem with the updating process, when I'm updating the version via PIM, it does not really update. When starting weatherfax after update (even when closing open cpn before), the former version is running.

It only works if I deinstall weatherfax and delete all the folders and then make a new install of weatherfax. Maybe one can solve this problem cause I think most users will trust the updating process and are not familiar with deleting all the files and folders before.

That's weird...
Just updated the plugin from 1.9.36.0 on Win10 (virtual machine) via PIM and the about dialog shows 1.9.40.0. No need to uninstall it before.

I am having difficulty understanding exactly what is happening.
What do you mean the former version is runnning? Did you

1. In PIM Update the master catalog.
2. Click on the plugin and download and install the new version.
3. Enable the plugin.
4. For good measure, run Retrieve > Update Data

Re: WeatherFax ...

That was exactly the way I did. But when starting weatherfax the "about" window showed the former version and the selection window for the charts was empty as it was before.

I had to deinstall the actual version again and delete the folders, then install weatherfax as new installation, not as an update, and now it works. The issue is the same as it was with the last updates.

For me it looks like the update will do not all the steps that are necessary to remove the former version completely. But maybe my laptop is a bavarian so as am I, and some things won't work as they will do for normal germans. We are the bollocks of germany and a little bit special.
