Re: WeatherFax ...
We still need a User Volunteer to add the weatherfax sources from this website!
Sailing Weather Online
We also need User Volunteers familiar with Github use, to step up and volunteer to maintain the meteo links for their areas of the world, in particular, Asia, NZ and Aus, India, Malayasia, etc. You will be joining an existing group of users maintaining other weatherfax areas of the world.
Incidently Mark Pitman's pyAirmail may be a good solution for RPI Airmail

Re: WeatherFax ...
If there are not user volunteers willing to maintain there areas of the world, this plugin will probably have to be dropped. Or those areas will just be dropped.

Re: WeatherFax ...
In the next version I will simply delete all outdated meteo sections without updating them.
This plugin simply must be maintained by users otherwise it will wither away and die.

Re: WeatherFax ...
The met station frequencies may not yet be used on Windows OS as the SDR controls do not work with it, yet. For this reason I keep a very limited amount of these data within SDRSharp which does that part of the work. However, other features of the plugin are very useful, and these make the plugin very worthy of retention for Windows users. The filtering of the audio is much better which gives far clearer images than any other apps I have tried, and the morphing routine to match faxes to OpenCPN charts is magic!
Some met stations broadcast their wefax schedules shown on SailingWeatherOnline up to a few times a day which may be another reason for a lack of urgency to update these in the plugin.
I imagine Linux users who can control receivers automatically from within the plugin would indeed find the frequency & schedule data very handy.

Re: WeatherFax ...
Thanks Maelruan, for your useful review of the features available in Weatherfax.
NOTICE!!!!
Users please note that we are updating this plugin, and I have noticed that many of the stations in the Far East are not working and will be removed in the next update. If you have found weatherfax stations available for those areas, please send the URL's and even better, provide the necessary weatherfax xml files so they can be added to the lists.
The ones that no longer work are
- UKmet (old.wetterzentrale.de) This is unfortunate.
- Australia Bom (bom.gov.au) This is unfortunate.
- French Polynesia (meteo.pf)
- Weather SA (weatherco.sa) South Africa
- Japan Met png files not found.
- Singapore Met This is unfortunate too.
The above will all be removed if there is no help from Users.
This part of the plugin is supported and updated by Users.
Also other stations should be updated.
BTW the weatherfaxes for my part of the world are working just fine, and I don't really care to spend time updating the rest of the world, which seems to keep changing sporadically, Thank you. As I said sometime ago, I am simply going to delete everything that does not work, and I will not be replacing it with the new weatherfax stations.

Re: WeatherFax ...
NOAA provides a Worldwide Weatherfax pdf for all stations available.
https://www.weather.gov/media/marine/rfax.pdf
I am going to remove all stations that are no longer working, if it is not an easy fix.
The xml files will be saved as backup in case they can be reused later.
Weatherfax for local areas must be maintained by users. Users are encouraged to send updates of the properly formated xml files for their particular areas of the world. We can no longer maintain the entire world without your help.
Search for south africa
At the bottom of this post is a list of weatherfax stations as of Feb 2019

Re: WeatherFax ...
I tried to fork and add NOAA's Freezing Spray Forecasts to the github repository. I apologize as I'm not experienced in coding or github.
I added the server to the WeatherFaxInternetRetrieval_Misc.xml and the image corrections to the CoordinateSets.xml
When I run it with these modified files, the plugin downloads the files but the dialog to align and correct the image still appears. I'm not sure how to fix this.
Github Fork /benito334/weatherfax_pi/
