Re: WeatherFax ...

Franziska,

Glad you succeeded with one plugin. I've just checked the two links to appveyor artifacts tab, and downloaded and they both appear to run ok, but they have not been tested completely and that is what I hope you and others can help with.

It would be helpful if you were a little more specific about which version installed for you and which version of opencpn you are using with the plugin. This may be part of the problem. When you use the windows installer and it prompts for where to install the plugin, you can hit backspace and other parallel installations of opencpn will show up, you can then select exactly which version of Opencpn you want to install into. If you don't have parallel installations of Opencpn you will only have one version show up. Perhaps this information will help?

I will try to fetch Stelian's changes and add them to the two versions (ov42-ov48 & ov50) new appveyor test files and provide links here.

Thanks so much. I hope other windows users will also test. Thanks Stelian.

Re: WeatherFax ...

Franziska, Rick,

I think I found the resize problem. The dialogs didn't have the wxRESIZE_BORDERS
flag, which seems to be ignored on Linux but it may make a difference under Windows.

I've also put the MAXIMIZE and MINIMIZE flags on the dialogs (should show the little icons on the right of the top bar, letting you maximize or minimize the dialog). These are also not showing up on my Linux build, but it might show on Windows. Let me know.

I've pushed the changes to my git.

Re: WeatherFax ...

Thank you Stelian!

Well this time I could only apply Stelian's Commits after my change to Appveyor ov50 version, so we only have a weatherfax_pi for OpenCPN v5.0 right now, that has Stelian's most recent changes.

The commits page after making a PR from Stelian's repository and Merging it looks like this Branch: "xml-update-stelian-ov50-appveyor"
https://github.com/rgleason/weatherf...-ov50-appveyor

The compiled appveyor.yml file that is associated with these changes is here
https://ci.appveyor.com/project/rgle...7375/artifacts

This file is for OpenCPN v5.0 only!

I have downloaded and installed it and it appears to be running well. I will report in more detail later after more testing.

Re: WeatherFax ...

Merci Stelian.

Rick could you please compile this update for win (Version 5) and give me a link, so that I can test the update?

Thanks Franziska

Re: WeatherFax ...

I have been testing only the internet retrieval portion, and for me it is all working very well indeed.
1. The max and min icons are there and work fine. Thank you!
2. Dialog resizing was working well on the earlier links, but this time I am able to do resize with my finger on a touch screen which is pretty nice.
3. Decode Skew adjustment is the first page now.
4. Scheduled button now works great.
5. Lat/Long fields are much better.

I have tried the File - Capture but need some way to test this, same with the HF Schedules. It would be wonderful if some user familiar with this process would give us good feedback.

I also know that the HF Schedule is very old and has not been updated in years. We need some Users to take on a complete world update of this xml file. User's with favorite channels and times should contribute information and schedules. This is not something I am going to take on, but it needs to be done by Users, as the programmers are too busy.

Once again Stelian, thank you.

Users are responsible for maintenance of the wiki, these xml files, testing, bug reports and feature requests, and general support. Programmers are too busy.

Eureka!

The windows adjustment is working on the Dell notebooks.
Thank you guys, really good job, I'm thrilled!

I'll check now on the Z800 as well. Mind you thats less of an issue if it would not work, as its always onshore.

Re: WeatherFax ...

Its working on the Z800 as well.

I did reinstall OpenCPN in English (instead of German) and the Plugin shows up.
Not sure if its really dependent on the language or if it was perhaps a left over config setting.

Now all is fine. Looking foward to be able to get good weather in secluded anchorages with bad cell reception. Thank you!

Thanks for your feedback it was very useful in debugging those problems.

As for the language, it shouldn't matter (myself I'm using OpenCPN in French), but once again, I'm on Linux so who knows...

Now, I can get back to my boat paint job...

Re: WeatherFax ...

For those who wish to test an ov42-ov48 weatherfax_pi version, the appveyor executable is here

https://ci.appveyor.com/project/rgle...4877/artifacts

Note that the "ov50" version link is below. Pick the most recent one!

Later tonight I'll work on getting the version number and "ov42" or "ov50" into the file name and I also think we should update the version minor number as well.

Then I will add these to the Release for windows and ask k to update links on the website. May take a day.

Stelian, you are a "Star".
