Re: WeatherFax ...

Stelian,
The windows changes work very well with the exception of when all checkmarks in the right column are checked the Internet Retrieval Menu by picking the very top box in the selection header area the button down below for "Scheduled" is not active and does not work. I can live with this, but it would be better to fix it.

When all check boxes are selected and then just one check is unchecked, then the "Scheduled" box is activated.

Stelian

I've also tried polar projects in the decoder/wxfax wizard and there are indeed two screens which appear, the second one being the polar projection flattened, such that additional small changes can be made in the coordinates. This is very good. See two screenshots.

Also attached is an example of the Win10 Magnifier, which should help Windows users determ the content of the very small text in the faxes.

Re: WeatherFax ...

For Windows testers, to get an ov42-ov48 OR ov50 weatherfax_pi executable.

Github repository: rgleason, Branch: xml-updates-stelian-ov50-appveyor
https://github.com/rgleason/weatherf...-ov50-appveyor
Press on the green check mark to pop up a menu, pick the "appveyor" not travis, then pick "artifacts" Tab.
Direct link to the files:
ov42 Version: https://ci.appveyor.com/project/rgle...1475/artifacts
ov50 Version: https://ci.appveyor.com/project/rgle...2218/artifacts

Re: WeatherFax ...

Stelian,

I am finding that ov50 works properly when all checks are selected and the "Selected" button is pushed. The problem only exists in the ov42-ov48 version.

I guess I would not complicate things by trying to fix this!

Re: WeatherFax ...

Rick and Stelian

Thanks for persevering with Sean's plug-in. I am planning to go down to the boat tomorrow and I'll try the changes, if I can get my SSB properly connected!

Much appreciated

Re: WeatherFax ...

Hi, I just downloaded the latest OpenCPN version (5+9065270) from the official website and tried the 3 versions (the two files you gave a direct link above for Rick (for 5 and as it failed the 4.8) and the file on the Plug-in page on the O website.

They can all be installed, but unfortunately none of them shows up under Plug-in when I start O.

I deinstalled between the trials.

Fixed. And pushed to the git repo.

Dear Franziska,

The two different plugins unfortunately are named the same. I will try to fix this later.

So, When you download, you should probably rename the plugin with the appropriate ov42-ov48 or ov50 designation to conform to the link and te one downloaded. Then be sure to install the plugin to the correct version ov488 or ov50!!1 Otherwise it will not work.

Please let us know how this goes, I have tested both from the same sources as I linked too, and they work.

Re: WeatherFax ...

Thx Rick, I noticed that and they downloaded with adding an (1).

Still, gave it another try, even rebooted and redownloaded your 5 version. No Plug-in to activate under plug-ins.

This is on my workstation. I'll give it a try on the Dell notebook now...

Re: WeatherFax ...

OK. On the Dell I get it to show up.
One thing I can still not do is resizing the window with skew adjustment.
That is unfortunately worse now, I can not adjust skew at all anymore. All I can read is "Ske" the "w" is cut in half and I can not access the slider anymore :-(
I noticed also that when I open a jpg file I end up directly in page 3 where I can adjust the position. To get to the page to adjust skew and phase I have to go back.
I feel that it would be better to get to page 3 via page 2 as a jpg derived from outside O might still need skew adjustment.

Re: WeatherFax ...

Just tried it once more on the Z800 Workstation. The plugin is not showing up under 5, despite me using the link you provided to the plugin version for 5
On the notebook it shows up. Luckily that's where I'd need it. The big machine stays on shore anyway.
Just weird that it shows up on one and not the other.

O is 270 on both computers.

This is really strange, there are no more "maxsize" constraints, so you should be able to resize it at will. On my Linux system I can resize, and the buttons/text fields at the bottom of the dialog are more packed, see the attachement.

Can somebody else on windows confirm this ?

I agree, and I changed the code to do exactly what you suggests.

Stelian.

Re: WeatherFax ...

Like that it would be perfect :-)

Unfortunately that's not what I see on both Dell notebooks :-(

Thanks for the hard work.

Thanks for the hard work.

So we need input from other Window users (because you're also having problems installing the plugin into O5, so you might have some issues with your install.

For the record, I test here exclusively on Linux (Ubuntu 18.10), O5 (compiled locally from git branch v5.0.x), GTK2, Wayland. Not sure this matters here...
