Re: WeatherFax...
Here is Sean's lastest Wx-Fx plugin.
Also does anyone have a little time to write the Plugiin description/use for the Manual?
I can perhaps make a download place for sample fax images. I am a little short on sound files ".Wav" that work, so if you have some please sent them.

Re: WeatherFax...
My experience with this latest .dll -- (Thanks boat_alexandra and rgleason)
Images now show and disappear on the OpenCPN map with the plugin status as well as the plugin check boxes. Strangely, the response to the check boxes is almost instantaneous, but the response to opening/closing the plugin takes about a second.
Also, now a newly edited image "usually" appears without forcing the OpenCPN window to refresh, but sometimes it takes more than a second (also strange). After the image has appeared once though, it will appear more quickly the second time. This may just be a "feature" of my particular GPU. In any case, the image can still be forced to show up immediately by clicking the OpenCPN window. I think this is something users can live with.
The color coding of the "Lat/Lon" text really helps. However, the lime green text appears washed-out and difficult to read. Maybe a slightly darker green or blue would work better?
If hard radio buttons were coded for this last dll, they are not working yet.
Similarly, if N/S E/W for Lat/Lon was coded, it is not working yet.
Your "Enable OpenGL" statement on the plugin option page is perfect.
Thanks.

Sounds cosmetic, feel free to debug.. I do not have this issue so I cannot.

Ok, I'll try a slightly darker green. I cannot use blue as I already use it in polar mode for latitudes

Yes, I did not implement these, not sure if I'll get around to it. I am trying to get climatology working.

Re: WeatherFax...
After some struggle, including reinstall of the current version. I find my compiled most recent version of Weatherfax_pi.dll was causing Opencpn to crash, so after a new Git and recompile, and a test of both mercator and polar faxes, here is a weatherfax_pi.dll that does work.

Re: WeatherFax...
I may be doing something stupid, but I cannot display polar-projected weather charts (as opposed to mercator ones) (O 3.2.0, W7)
Following the procedure outlined on opencpn.org
I open the .tif file,
skip the first window,
hit input type 'polar'
Set the red cross-hair to 70°N -35° (i.e.W) on the vertical (polar) meridian
Set the second (green) cross-hair to 40°N 20° (i.e. E), somewhere near Albania
hit 'get mapping'
Both blue latitude circles (70° N and 40° N) are almost perfect, so I skip any adjustement
hit 'next' and get an error window saying 'resulting image larger than 30 MB, aborting'
Same happens with a .jpg file instead of a .tif file
Here is the file I use (remove .doc), retrieved with Viewfax/Airmail
Wrong file removed
polar file

Re: WeatherFax...
With large images it tends to make things very slow, so I put that in to avoid this. Change the size to something less than 1 before hitting next. Try .5 or .25 or something small enough to work.
I'll add to the error message what size you need to use.

Re: WeatherFax...
Works with size of .5. The other problem is that image has so much at high latitudes, and in mercator coordinates the north pole is at infinity, so you will see the resulting mapping wastes a lot.
If the image were cropped before to remove the whitespace at the top, it would work without the smaller scale.
