Waypoint Properties Opens on Descrption Tab.

I have a collection of waypoints imported as a layer. When I open the PROPERTIES of these particular waypoints, it always opens on the DESCRIPTION tab.
Is there some way to make the Waypoint Properties open on the BASIC tab?

Further investigation shows me that waypoints in a LAYER always open the Properties dialog on the Description tab.

What system and OpenCPN version are you running?

My Layer waypoint Properties also open on the Description page.


PC W10 OpenCPN5.8.2.

Perhaps a simple tutorial will help.
or some screenshots.

Thanks for the PIX and hints.
I can reproduce this, and after looking in the code it seems to be an intentional action for waypoints in layers that actually contain some text in the Description tab.
Very old code, been like that for a long time. I personally do not use layers much. so I'll take your input on this as an experienced user.

You think it more intuitive if the waypoint Properties dialog opens in the basic page always, whether in layer or not, and whether or not there is some text on the Description tab?

The Basic tab also contains, in some cases, links that would more easily grab the attention of the user.

And it also contains the Description information if it exists.

So I vote for always thanks.
