using e.g Furuno MCU002 Keypad with OpenCPN possible?

I do not trust touchscreens in wet conditions.
Therefore I have an additional remote key pad (RCM10) for our Raymarine Axiom+

Now I want to install a touchscreen with OpenCPN at helm and I am looking for a small! waterproof keyboard solution.

I found the Furuno MCU002 which comes with USB A cable. I wonder if it would be possible to use this with a PC or Raspberry? Perhaps the keys has to be remapped for working with OpenCPN.

Does anyone use something like the MCU002, or any other small keypad?
