Hello everyone,
to be able to use these great dongles, I am trying to update my oeSENC
plugin. Since I am using Scientific
Linux 7.X - which is apparently an exotic choice among OpenCPN users - I have to build my own package from source (as I am used to do). Up to now I am using OpenCPN 5.0.0 and the oeSENC
plugin 2.6.0, and as I understood I need at least version 3.0.0 of the plugin.
So I cloned the GIT repository and got oeSENC source version 3.3.8. Compiling and building a
RPM works without problems, but I cannot install the package because of an incompatible libc version. The reason is the contained oeserverd binary, which needs GLIBCXX_3.4.20 and GLIBCXX_3.4.21 to be defined, Scientific / RedHat 7.X offers up to 3.4.19.
Could please somebody successfully running the 3.0.0 plugin check the libc version the corresponding oeserverd binary depends on? (ldd oeserverd)
Dave, wouldn't it make sense to offer a static version of the binary? Or just stay with an not-so-recent libc version?
Thank you!
Ralph
