UPGRADING .

Apologies for asking a possible novice question .
When upgrading to the latest version of OpenCPN , must l first uninstall my current version before downloading the new version ?

Good question. I don't think so usually. But they usually supply a reader file that would tell you if a big version upgrade required special preparation.

Your operating system?
In general you can just upgrade (or install in parallel if you like so).
The actual settings will be preserved.

Just get the 4.4.0 and install - you will be asked if you want to install in parallel and preserve the old version. Your choice...
