Unable to install opencpn in Ubuntu 14

I tried the process suggested in the users manual regarding 11.04 which failed. I tried to reformat to a format suggested by the process and that didn't work and has put the SPM into a loop. It immediately throws an error message on starting with no way out.....closing the error message closes SPM out??? As a result I have no error messages to forward. Thanks for any help. Bruce

From the wiki:

Click on the downloaded package. An installation manager will guide you on most Linux distributions. All dependencies should automatically be installed.
Have you tried to install this way?

Re: Unable to install opencpn in Ubuntu 14.04

Hi together,

I also updated my notebook to Lubuntu 14.04 and wanted to download the 3.2.2 for all other *Ubuntu's, Linux Mint and other Ubuntu clones. This brings me to the OpenCPN download site where I do not find a version for trusty tahr (14.04). I would rather like to add the ppa, but there is no trusty either. The only way is currently to install the beta version, what I don't prefer because I use O for cruising.

Will there be a way in the future to add the stable branch release to 14.04?

Best regards

Robert

Robert...
Yes, once the next stable release is out. No Trusty-specific packages are planned for 3.2.2 in the PPA.
