Re: TRACKER/FLYSPRAY: When and How to use it

David, good idea. Either under Feature Requests thread or separately, but feature requests would be better I think.

Re: TRACKER/FLYSPRAY: When and How to use it

Frequent voters help to determine User Priorities. (Not necessarily Programming Priorities)
Three items have made it to Feature Request Vetted list
OpenCPN::OpenCPN00 Ocpn Feature Req. Vetted > 4 Votes: Tasklist

FS#1152 : AIS DSC Support DSC Initiate Call

FS#1102 : UI Option Ship Tab Boat Data- Draft, Speed, Clearance, Displacement

FS#565 : AIS Small Enhancements - (from Opncpn 2.4)

Their "Severity" has been readjusted to Low or Medium

Also are few Feature Request Orphans whose owners who have not claimed their "free" vote. These look pretty lonely down at the bottom of the third page of the list.
OpenCPN::OpenCPN00 Ocpn Feature Requests: Tasklist
Note that some of these items have been "Unconfirmed" and just a few lucky other ones are being worked on by the developers.

19 Vetted Feature Requests - one added - Vote for what you want.

Please vote for ones you'd like.
There are now 19 Tasks.

144 Feature Requests - Vote for the ones you want.

Re: TRACKER/FLYSPRAY: When and How to use it

It is unlikely anyone has voted for Feature Requests in the last month. Also there are at least 10 recent tasks entered with Votes=0. This means the OP did not even vote! How in the world will any of these items get "Vetted" if even the OP does not vote?

Also there no items which need to be moved to Vetted this month.

NOTE: Feature Requests are not Bug Reports.
Please do not make false bug reports. Bug Reports should be entered into the respective Opencpn Version Number or into the plugin.

Thankyou. Serge & Rick

Re: TRACKER/FLYSPRAY: When and How to use it

Tracker now has about
14 with 4 votes (that's good but 5 counts ---> vetted features)
13 with 3 votes (ok but its not going anywhere.)
15+ with 0 votes (dead in the water)

Re: TRACKER/FLYSPRAY: When and How to use it

Dear OpenCPNers,

Just a quick overview on the requests portfolio :
403 pending items with more than 70 requests with a no vote status
Questions :
- is there any sense to keep them all ?
- shall we start a new clearance session ?

Please have à look to all your requests and ask for their closure if needed.

Thanks

Serge

Re: TRACKER/FLYSPRAY: When and How to use it

Hey OpenCPNers,

HAVE a GO on TRACKER/FLYSPRAY

By using this functionality with no limitation; you are sure that any bug, any remark, any comments or suggestion... will be traced, analyzed and taken in account.

How to access TRACKER/FLYSPRAY :
Select the “tracker Button” (OpenCPN | Official OpenCPN Homepage) in the upper right hand side of the menu.

How to register onto TRACKER/FLYSPRAY :
In the upper part of the screen; there is a place to register, and a place to login.
Nota : no registration gives you a limited access to functionalities

How to select a category (project) :
2nd line of the screen (upper left Handside); a listbox with categories (Over than 30) concerning OpenCPN and Plugins has been set.

How to enter a request :
Browse through the tasklist to be sure that it is not already there; if not
>> Concerning OpenCPN :
- ask for a new functionality by address it via ‘new features’ project.
- report a bug by address it to the version of your running OpenCPN

>> Concerning Plugins :
- address by Plugin and identify "beta" or "release" and "bug" or "feature" and name (and version) of plugin.

How to close a request :
When a new version of OpenCPN and/or plugin has been released, check if your submitted requests have been taken into account, if Yes, thanks for asking for its closure.

How to vote for a request :
Select a request and click on the “vote button” on the Left handside,
to be used with no limitation, this is how to pinpoint what functionality is important to you.

Nota: by pressing “overview” you will get the list for the most wanted task of the category.

Thanks everyone
Serge

Re: TRACKER/FLYSPRAY: When and How to use it

What happened with Flyspray? I tried to report a bug and it told me I don't have sufficient permissions to open a new task.

Re: TRACKER/FLYSPRAY: When and How to use it

Fabbian, are you registered? Have you logged in? --I thought you'd made flyspray entries before, so you should be able to add a new Task. I just checked & it seems to be working for me. Do you see "Logout" and "Add new Task"?
Thanks.

Re: TRACKER/FLYSPRAY: When and How to use it

My problem with the Tracker has gone away. I was able to add a new task this morning.

Re: TRACKER/FLYSPRAY: When and How to use it

Hello,

Is the registering to the tracker closed for now? I tried to sign up end of last week but did not receive the code for completing the process.
I am simply impatient? ;-)

Thanks

Feature Request VS Bugs

Under Feature Requests we have 8 "BUGS" some of them may be "false" bugs.
If it really is a Bug (related to OS and OpenCPN versions) , shouldn't it be located in an OpenCPN version? Are some of these FALSE BUGS?
-
Will someone please test these and move them to their proper locations, change to Feature Request, or close them?

OpenCPN::OpenCPN00 Feature Request: Tasklist

Also we have
151 Feature Requests many of which will never be executed.
37 have 0 votes
56 have just 1 vote

One way to quiickly shorten this list is to ignore the bottom 93 requests.
