Re: Tracker: AIS Feature Requests
#136
I think, that this project should be continued. Many of O user got A class ais and it's easier to do any changes from PC keyboard than from AIS itself, it's just more confortable
Enough for me to be able to change the destination, clear alarms.
How rest of you think ?

Re: Tracker: AIS Feature Requests
Thank you Oxygen, #136 will not be closed, however all of the others will be closed in two days, unless users speak up now about these specific items. http://www.cruisersforum.com/forums/...ml#post1339383
The alternative, is for someone to list the continuing AIS requests in a new item, and this can be done after I close the above.
Or advise which items have been completed and request it be closed.

Re: Tracker: AIS Feature Requests
Going, going.... these items will be closed tomorrow. Last chance to speak up. Some of these items make good sense to me, but I don't use AIS yet.

Re: Tracker: AIS Feature Requests
Rick...
Maybe it's just me, but I would no close all of them just because they are old as for example #587 is on my list (Doesn't matter that the main reason is something else)... At the other hand I don't have time to do anything about it right now. What makes sense is closing the ones that really are already handled or otherwise irrelevant though.

Re: Tracker: AIS Feature Requests
Ok that helps, #587 and #136 don't get closed.
136 AIS Set AIS from OpenCPN
587 AIS Right click context menu in AIS target list
My problem is I don't know which ones should be closed because I don't know what has been implemented and what is extraneous. There are some good ideas here, but I don't use AIS yet. If people could just say close XXX, XXX, XXX and XXX that would be helpful.
Perhaps some can be consolidated?

Re: Tracker: AIS Feature Requests
Since this post AIS has been completely updated. I have a related question. If properly setup for AIS would a McMurdo PLB AIS show up on the Opencpn Ais screen as a contact? ALSO more importantly as a MOB? Does the Opencpn AIS interface allow or have a way of configuring a very load sounding alarm for this condition or should we be using the Watchdog plugin as well? Has anyone tried this?
The setup is using Raymarine E 80 display and Raymarine AIS 650 with vhf antennae at top of mast. Additionally I'd like to know if anyone knows what the E80 will show of the McMurdo PLB AIS man overboard signal?
Also does anyone know if there is a "Test" mode so as not to alert USCG but allow confirmation of equipment connections and alarms?

Re: Tracker: AIS Feature Requests
I have concluded that the Mob features needed for McMurdo PLB AIS are probably not implimented.
FS#802 AIS Track own AIS MOB SAT enter mm si numbers and chose an action.

Re: Tracker: AIS Feature Requests
#136, I'm currently coding a PI to set the voyage data on a class A AIS. It is planned to cover also Inland AIS voyage data, and hopefully messages.

Re: Tracker: AIS Feature Requests
Thanks Dirk I understand #136 applies only for Type A. Bailey I don't understand what you mean too abreviated. Sorry.
When I get back I am going to check DSC buddy operation which would apply to type B and allow the Mob functions with particular mm si entered maybe. Which will work for Dsc and maybe Type B.
Anyone have ideas.

Re: Tracker: AIS Feature Requests
Rick....
I have deferred implementation of this function simply because I have no capability to test it.
If we can enlist a willing Forum participant who already has a unit, or acquire a unit ourselves, we can proceed with the code, and do some tests.
Ideas?
Dave
