Re: Track

In Windows, track data is recorded in

Code:
C:\ProgramData\opencpn\navobj.xml
Format is xml (gpx).

There are 5 copies of previous versions of navobj.xml named
navobj.xml.1, navobj.xml.2 , ... , navobj.xml.5 .

In Android?

We just lost ALL our track data on an Android tablet after circumnavigating New Cal.
Where is it stored?
What format is it stored in?
Is there a backup hidden somewhere that I can retrieve it from?
I have all my route, track, waypoint data in GPX format using a different application (memory map) on the same device in other countries. I expected Ocpn to handle their overlay data in a similar way.
Surely its there somewhere so where do I look for it on my samsung tablet?
Cheers

Re: Track

Home/MainStorage/Android/Data/Org.opencpn.OpenCPN/Files
(This is as it looks from Fx, the file explorer app).

As in all OpenCPN version the navobj files are located in the application data directory together with for example the configuration or ini file.

Storage/emulated/0/Android/Data/Org.opencpn.OpenCPN/Files in my case. The two directory paths are aliases.

The "About"/"?" button from the tool bar tells you where this is on your device.

On my Android there are two file storage locations. One is called "SD card", which is a removeable micro SD Card. The other is called "USB storage", which is built into the tablet. OpenCPN has files in both locations on my tablet.

Here is an abbreviated list of files in the two locations.
Code:
{home symbol} SD card > Android > data > org.opencpn.opencpn > files >

...

navobj.xml
  navobj.xml.1
  navobj.xml.2
  navobj.xml.3
  navobj.xml.4
  navobj.xml.5

  opencpn.conf
  opencpn.log
  opencpn.log.log

...

{home symbol} USB storage > Android > data > org.opencpn.opencpn > files >
  {folder symbol} cm93
  {folder symbol} Configs
  {folder symbol} external
  {folder symbol} gshhs

...

  navobj.xml
  navobj.xml.1
  opencpn.conf
  mmsitoname.csv
  chartlist.dat
  opencpn.log

...
The latest track data is in navobj.xml. Backup copies are in navobj.xml.1, navobj.xml.2, …, navobj.xml.5. The format is XML (GPX).

On my tablet, the navobj.xml and navobj.xml.1 in the "USB storage" are older than the files of the same name on the "SD card".
