We're having an open house (Know the Coast Day) at the University of New Hampshire and I'm using
OpenCPN in two displays.
One is showing live
AIS traffic as well as well as the status of the buoys listening for Right Whales off the
New England coast.
AIS area notices are used to get the buoy info.

The other is part of a ship simulator I put together to let
kids try their hand at the
helm of a hydrographic
survey vessel. One of the kid's response was "this is the coolest thing ever!!"

So thank you to the whole community for making this great open source tool available. Thank you also for allowing me to contribute some code, especially Pavel for quickly integrating my
network code in his development datastream branch. That made it trivial to integrating
OpenCPN in my
environment. I sure hope I can contribute more code that can make OpenCPN useful both on the bridge and in other settings.
