Testing out video release notes

I've been thinking about how it would be nicer to introduce the new features of the next release using motion graphics instead of dead screenshots.

So I did a test video. Let's see what you say. Check it out at:

My internet is too slow to get it smooth without waiting for caching if that's my problem, but I like the salty, cheery music-usually the music in videos is terrible..... Nice production with the sub-title fNew Features overlaid and all!

Looks good!

I think as a learning tool it moves along a bit fast. It might be nice to allow for a slower play back.

If you put the mouse pointer on the video progress bar, or the moving slider, you can repeat as often as you want with a left click.

True, but I would rather concentrate on the content then on controlling the presentation.

Re: Testing out video release notes

As a viewer, it's much harder to speed up the show if you feel it's too slow, you never know how far to skip ahead. Pausing or repeating is easier.

So in general being too fast causes less pain than being too slow, when trying to please as many viewers as possible.

Thanks!

I made the link to the HD version as default, because screen captures at lower bitrates get pretty blurry.

Remove the ?hd=1 at the end and you will have faster downloads.

I struggled to keep up, so as a demo could do with being slower, but nice and clear though.

Looks as if there are some excellent goodies on the way!
