TackTick wireless network

I have a seatalk based network, with OpenCPN interfacing to it. My wind instrument is a TackTick wireless (in the 916 band).


I have RTLSDR receiver that can pick up the signal but I am just starting to look at the traffic. My thoughts are if someone else has broken the traffic I will build an interface that will convert the data to NMEA183 and 2000.


Anyone looked at this?


And Yes I know we can buy a conversion box, but doing it with simple SDR $20 and some code sounds a lot more interesting than buying a $400++ interface

We have a Tacktick wireless network and we interfaced it into our RPi using a USB RS232 cable from the Tacktick NMEA interface (T122).

Works great and we describe the set up here

I suppose you could create your own interface but we had enough fun trail blazing for setting up the earlier versions of OCPN on the pi and luckily our system came w/the T122.

Sounds like a great winter project though.
