Tablet USB-OTG AIS connection parameters question.

Hi,
I'm new to this forum and found it on the new OpenCPN web page.
For several years I've used OpenCPN on a Windows XP laptop. I have an AIT2000 AIS transponder/gps connected to my USB port via an FTDI cable and this all works well, giving me AIS information and GPS position.

I also have a Nexus 7 (2012) tablet running lollipop 5.1.1 with OpenCPN 4.1.1028 which I'd like to use instead of the laptop.

The tablet has a built-in gps which gives my position. I turned off the internal gps, connected a USB-OTG cable to the same cable that normally goes to the laptop, and tried every conceivable parameter in the connections menu (except the right one!) to get signals from the AIS and GPS to show up on-screen.

Could someone on the forum give me a push in the right direction?
Thanks!
Peter.

Re: Tablet USB-OTG AIS connection parameters question.

I just switched over to OpenCPN Android Version 1.0.12
Still looking for help... When I go to load the help file I get the message "Webpage not available. The webpage at file:///android_asset/doc/doc/help_en_US.html could not be loaded because: net:ERR_FILE_NOT_FOUND"

Peter,

The OpenCPN Android Forum is the place to get help with connecting AIS and GPS to the Android:

OpenCPN Android Forum for the Purchased App

This, CruisersForum, is the place to get help with OpenCPN on your Windows computer, but you might get some Android help here as well.

Thanks Paul ... I'll ask over there.
Peter.
