I'm new to this forum and found it on the new OpenCPN
For several years I've used OpenCPN
on a Windows XP laptop
. I have an AIT2000 AIS
transponder/gps connected to my USB port via an FTDI
cable and this all works well, giving me AIS
information and GPS
I also have a Nexus 7 (2012) tablet running lollipop 5.1.1 with OpenCPN 4.1.1028 which I'd like to use instead of the laptop
The tablet has a built-in gps
which gives my position. I turned off the internal gps, connected a USB-OTG cable to the same cable that normally goes to the laptop, and tried every conceivable parameter in the connections menu (except the right one!) to get signals from the AIS and GPS to show up on-screen.
Could someone on the forum give me a push in the right direction?
