Status bar plugin - unable to change background colour

Hi there,
I downloaded and activated the staus bar plugin recently (ver. 0.604), running on win10.
Whenever I change background and font colours, as well as transparency, everything returns to green transparent background and blue letters when rebooting OpenCpn.
Very annoying, as it is difficult to read when the chart is heavily "loaded" with information.
Also, transperancy returns to a fixed rate once exiting settings. Is there a fix for this?
